Founder of Chi Chi Life
Tell us about your career and how it all started?
Back in college at Villanova University, I looked at how I spent my time outside the classroom (Accounting / Marketing classes). I was planning + executing fundraising events for various causes. Giving back was ingrained in me at a very early age. Chi Chi Life is multifacted, I’m a fitness teacher, corporate wellness consultant, fundraising + events consultant + cancer advocate. When I was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 23, my life hit the pause button, very hard. I beat Hodgkin’s Lymphoma 2x + fitness was integral in my recovery. My teachers inspired me to become a teacher. This was 4+ years ago – I’ve never looked back.
What does sisterhood mean to you?
I can’t explain the positive impact of a supportive female-focused community. When we can stand beside each other + revel in the high’s + low’s of the ride of life – we can shine our brightest. I’m a body-positive advocate + strive to spread the message of accepting our bodies – just as they are.
What's your personal mantra?
“Yes you can.” When we start believing in ourselves, magic will happen.
What is your superpower?
Kindness. I adore sending people cards + reminding people they are not alone.
Tell us about women that inspired you and your female role models:
My mom is the most giving person in the world. Her compassion paved the way for me. In general, women who are disrupting the cultural norm truly inspire me. When we accept ourselves, fully + wholly, we give permission for others to do the same.
What would be your advice for women who are building careers in your industry?
Build genuine relationships. I adore connecting + meeting new people. I deeply believe we’re stronger together + I love supporting others business + creative efforts. Also, follow up + show up. Keep your word, plain + simple!
One piece of advice for your 18 year old self?
Don’t worry so much about what other people think of you. Your unique traits will allow you to blaze your path + find your people.
